The International Conference «The Development of Health Technology Assessment in the Eurasian Economic Union countries»

The International Conference «The Development of Health Technology Assessment in the Eurasian Economic Union countries» will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan from 27 April to 28 April 2017.

The sectoral cooperation is carried out between 5 member countries  Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). Development of the common market of medical technologies (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and others) on the EEU territory is a priority in the health care system. Health technology assessment (HTA) is a key tool in the medical technologies pricing and co-operation and integration issues in the field of HTA in the EEU, which have a particular relevance related to the high demand for solving the problems of costs and reduction in price.

This conference will be co-hosted by the Kazakhstan ISPOR Chapter (ISPOR — International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research), Kazakh Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Republican Center for Healthcare Development with support Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Government bodies, such as Ministries of Health (MoH) and health insurance funds, evolving and established HTA agencies or other government departments responsible for health care decision making from EEU countries are invited to attend the two-day conference which will focus on discussion of the cooperation and integration issues in the field of HTA between EEU countries.

The conference will feature presentations by leading HTA experts from EU and EEU countries are going to participate, including representatives of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, the Eurasian Economic Commission and Ministries of Health and Health Insurance Funds from the EEU countries.

The Conference will include a full range of academic sessions, plenary lectures.

A first day session focussing to methodological aspects of HTA, analysis of international experience in the HTA development and integration prospects of HTA within the EEU collaboration.

The second day will take workshops provide the skills and tools to aid decision makers in understanding how to interpret data presented to them, as well as what a good HTA process requires and how this can be tailored to different settings.

Both days of the Conference promise to provide plenty of ideas and tools to take home and is an invaluable and unmissable event for anyone in the HTA.
